Sonnwendfest 2013. MIDSUMMER FESTIVITY. MIDSUMMER FESTIVITY 2013

sonnwendfeuer-sonnwendfest

36 years ago my parents celebrated midsummer in their garden for the very first time, starting one of the truly few traditions in my family. Today the children of the children back then are jumping around and laughing all through the night, are lying in the flower beds munching wild strawberries. Many memories come back. The fire was 3 times as big then, the trees in the back of the garden very small. The former circumference (of the fire – T.N.) would take its toll on the trees today, and on my father, too. These kind of festivities make life´s ongoing cycle apparent. Wistful thoughts arise as well as the question of what will happen to the garden one day, the home of my childhood. Questions to which there are no answer and so the question must be left hanging in the air. Enjoy now! That is the message of so many things.
