When I was as old as Marie I was given an indiaca. This racket game was THE game that summer. My brothers and my father played it in the garden until it was too late to see anything. Even today I can still feel the wet grass between my toes and I cherish the memory. Midsummer Eve a lot of friends of the family came with their children, and one or the other joined the game. Big or little. That night we were able to play for a long time. Unfortunately, my own family is not a  family of „game-players“. I have always felt sorry about that (and I am now that way myself). Through the years we have found only a few games attractive enough to play: backgammon, indiaca, table-tennis, halma, canasta and solitaire.

My children know what an indiaca is and have made themselves one.  They used the mesh around a wheel of red cheese from the fridge, wool, a strong string, feathers and a little piece of fabric as a label. And now the game can start. I like the gadget a lot and always marvel again and again at that which the children create.
